There are a lot of different types of gear or equipment that is used in playing Airsoft. Some of the most common types include the gun, safety goggles and tactical gear. This tactical gear includes such things as belts and vests that are used to hold your gun's accessories, as well as your other equipment. It is important to have a firm understanding of the various types of gear that you are going to need whenever playing Airsoft. These include:

  1. The guns that are used in Airsoft include spring, electric and gas-powered ones. You should select the gun that is right for you based upon its battery life, range, magazine capacity and realism. Of course, you will also find that some guns are designed for longer ranges than other guns are.
  2. Some people also like to use grenades and launchers, which are gas-powered explosive devices. However, there are also people who do not like to use grenades because they have a lot of faults.
  3. You will more than likely want to have some Airsoft projectiles or pellets, which are oftentimes called BBs even though the BB gun is an entirely different type of gun. These are usually made out of plastic and they do not weigh very much (only between .12 and .25 grams) and will cost you between $3.50 for 2,000 of them to $16 for 10,000 of them.
  4. You are going to need some special clothing for whenever you are playing Airsoft. This includes military camouflage pants and shirts or jackets, which will help you to be concealed from your adversaries. Most of the time you can purchase these clothes at a military surplus store in your local area.
  5. It is also a good idea to have some tactical gear in order to add an extra element of realism to the game. These accessories include such things as spare magazines, water, food and other such equipment. However, the most common accessories include holsters and load bearing vests as well as military-style helmets.
  6. Pyrotechnics can also be used at some of the places where you play Airsoft. These are small explosive-driven replicas of pellet grenades, smoke grenades and flash bangs, which are also known as thunder flashes.

Of course, there is still a lot of other Airsoft equipment available for you to use. You can purchase most of this equipment at your local military surplus store or you can purchase previously used equipment from a soldier or private military contractor. The most commonly purchased items here include scopes, flashlights, pica tinny rails and holsters. These are items that are used for increasing combat efficiency. However, they can also be used to provide enhanced realism while you are playing Airsoft.
